A productive week

This week I started my resolution to keep a better house.....for myself and for my family. Knowing I couldn't do it alone I started a forum on The Shaker Box for a group of us to support each other in our efforts! WOW! What an amazing week....we had daily tasks to do and a weekly project! Our weekly project was to organize and clean our laundry rooms! Here are my BEFORE and AFTER photos. Everything was organized...even the cabinets!!!! How great it is to now walk in there...ALMOST makes me want to do laundry!!! LOL!!!!!

Off to a good start....

Well, I wanted to change a few things about myself this year and so far we are off to a good start! Wonder how long I can keep it up??? So do I!!!
One thing I wanted to work on was getting things clean and organized here at home....well, not doing too badly there. I started a Domestic Diva Challenge at The Shaker Box (www.theshakerbox.com). Every day a list of tasks is listed.....goal is to get them done! And we are doing a weekly challenge for longer more detailed projects. This week it's cleaning the laundry room. If you've ever been here, then you know mine needs help! Well, it's almost done! Come join us!

Haven't done much scrapbooking but have made a few cards with scraps that have been piling up on my table. LOVE my new Cuttlebug Embossing/Die Cutter!!!

I've also been cooking more at home! In fact, we haven't eaten out in almost a week. The only night I have planned to eat out is Tuesday nights since that's guitar lessons and scouts night! No time to cook....

Amazing start....

to the new year!!!! We have had such a good time the last couple days....2 day in Yosemite to brighten the spirits! I know I have said it many times but there is NO place like Yosemite! I have been there 4 times in the past 8 months and each time I see something different...or a waterfall looks different...the light is different. This past time was amazing....saw things I had never seen before and may never see again...coyotes right next to the road (didn't even need to zoom to get a photo)....ice on Yosemite Falls....views from the Loop Trail (never been on that hike)....mist coming off the river and frozen meadows. This is one of my FAVORITE photos from our trip. We also got to go ice skating under the shadow of Half Dome and Glacier Point! Evan took to skating like a natural.....Alex struggled a little but after we left him alone to hang onto the wall he finally started to get the hang of it!

A NEW YEAR.......

Happy New Year! I can't believe 2006 is over and a new year has begun! A new year....a new chance to do things never done....a chance to do things differently....a chance to do things again. I am so thankful for the chance to do all these.....

I am not big on resolutions...as I never keep them! But as a new year begins there are a few things I would really like to work on........

**spend more time hanging out as a family...playing games, watching movies, talking
**continue exploring my creative side....scrapbooking, photography, knitting
**cook more often and healthier foods
**lose weight again
**ORGANIZE my house....purge what hasn't been touched in years, better utilize the spaces I have

What will this new year bring...no one knows...but I do plan on living it to the best of my ability!
