Count down to Hawaii!!

WOW!! Time sure flies!!! Seems like we just had Christmas...and here it is the middle of January! Time is going so fast....

Seems as though at least once a week one of the boys comes in wearing clothes that are too small....HOW did they grow that fast??? Just a few months ago Evan was crying because he couldn't keep up with the older boys on the street....now he's out there playing street hockey with high schoolers!!!!! Lately we seem to be marking the passing of time by teeth...falling out that is!

This week is the count down to Hawaii!!!!! We were told about this trip two years ago...and now it's finally here! Gotta pull those shorts out and see if any fit!!!!!

What's new???

It's been a busy time here.......holiday stuff put away, house back in order (some what), back into the routine of working (kind of....)....it's the beginning of a new year!!!

Today at work I had my first formal observation at my new school....he was in there for 2 hours! In all my 11 years of teaching I have NEVER been observed for so long!!!! Tomorrow I find out his opinions...which I am a little nervous about!!!! I know what I was doing and the day went GREAT but the big thing is was he impressed (especially considering he has reminded me several times that I am PROBATIONARY!)

Came across an interesting thing today...at Christmas my dad brought me more stuff...as usual! This time a couple of the things were his mom's autograph books from the 1920's!!! Tonight I sat down and thumbed through one!! I actually found a little note in one that my grandfather wrote to her. For the first time I felt kind of connected to these two people who are strangers to me as they were both gone long before I was born. He had written "I don't need glasses (drew a picture of glasses) to see how much I love you!".

Made me start to think about how long those have been around.....and the reasons I am scrapbooking!!! To preserve these touching things for my future generations!!!

I survived!!

Well....first day back after the holidays and all went well!!!! I'm tired but it was a good day!

What am I thankful for today??? I am thankful that Dave took the day off and spent a great day with the boys!!! I am also thankful that he got a few things done around the house (including starting dinner!!!)

Beautiful Day.....

What a beautiful day it was here!!! Sun was shining and things were starting to dry out. Boys were finally able to get out and play with those Fly Wheels they got for Christmas. What the excitement is in them I do not understand...must be a boy thing?? Dave was out there having fun with the boys, making jumps for them etc.

I was finally able to get a little time to let those creative juices flow and managed to get 4 cards done! I love the QK Thank you card kit I got for Christmas! So much fun!!!! Hope to get some LOs done this weekend.

Tomorrow is back to work for me. Not overly excited about it. New Assoc. Principal at our school, back to sharing a room......all reasons why I am not very excited! I am sure it will be fine once I get there. Plus, only have a couple weeks before taking a week off to go to Hawaii!!! Can't be that bad!!!!!!

Today I am very thankful for the beautiful weather.....we needed to dry out and the boys needed to get out and run around!!! I am also grateful for my wonderful DH for taking the next 2 days off so not to have to pay for childcare for the boys!!!!

Amazing photo

Been going through my photos I took this past week in Palm Springs and am amazed at how this one turned out!!! We were driving down out of Joshua Tree NP when I noticed the big puffy clouds reflecting on the windows of the truck from the side view mirror. I grabbed my camera and zoomed in on the side mirror and snapped! Can't wait to print it out!!!!!

New year.....

Well, a new year is here and therefor time to start new things! Hopefully I'll keep this up!

I hope to be able to post my goals and successes here as well as share a little about my life here!

Sooooo, to start with, I hope to:
**finish getting my scraproom cleaned up a little bit!
**get a couple cards done before returning to work on Thursday
**finish the MOUNDS of laundry I have to do!!!!!
